This line aims at the development of chemical tools and methods to determine sphingolipid compositions and changes in sphingolipid profiles. Hyphenated mass spectrometry techniques (GC-MS and LC-MS) are used, which provide complementary platforms for lipidomic analysis.
Implementation of modern powerful chemometric and multivariate data analysis methods is also an aspect of this line, carried out in collaboration with Prof. Romà Tauler (IDAEA-CSIC). An especially relevant goal is the development of procedures for the high throughput analysis of tagged lipidomes in lipid blends.
Lipid analysis (lipidomics) is also offered to external groups from both private and public institutions. For more information, please click here.
